G – Musical Composition

  • Successful applicants will be notified by: 1st week of June 2020

G1. Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod Composition Competition (Choral)

Composers are invited to submit original works (not previously performed or published) for youth, mixed, female or male choirs, with or without keyboard accompaniment. Works submitted should be no more than five minutes in duration. Composers are at liberty to set texts of their choosing but must submit proof of permission from publishers if still in copyright. Works should be submitted in standard notation format, by post or by email, ensuring the score is credited to a pseudonym. There is no upper or lower age limit in this category. The names of entrants will not be revealed to the adjudicating panel. G1 Prizes: International Medal and £150. The winner will receive their prize on one of our Eisteddfod stages and there may be an opportunity for the work(s) to be performed and published.

G2. Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod Composition Competition (Instrumental)

Composers are invited to submit original works (not previously performed or published) for piano quintet (piano and string quartet).  Works submitted should be no more than five minutes in duration. Works should be submitted in standard notation format, by post or by email, ensuring the score is credited to a pseudonym. There is no upper or lower age limit in this category. The names of entrants will not be revealed to the adjudicating panel. G2 Prizes: International Medal and £150. The winner will receive their prize on one of our Eisteddfod stages and there may be an opportunity for the work(s) to be performed and published.
