- All competitions in this category include a Preliminary and a Final round
B1. INTERNATIONAL VOICE OF THE FUTURE (Prelim & Semi-final: Friday 5 July & Final: Saturday 6 July part of the Saturday evening concert).
Prizes: 1st Trophy and £3,000. There will also be a runner-up prize of £1,000.
- This competition is open to singers aged 19 and over on the first day of the competitions.
- The competition will be held over two days. – see above
- Competitors are required to perform a contrasting programme of up to 7 minutes of music for the Preliminary round and Semi-final and up to 10 minutes of music for the Final round. Competitors may repeat up to one item from their Preliminary round programme in the Final round.
- The programme should include:
- contrasting pieces from Oratorio, Opera, Lieder or Song.
- All music must be sung in the original language.
- Competitors may use their own accompanist. Alternatively, we can book you in with our official Eisteddfod accompanist at an additional cost of £40. This includes a rehearsal, prelim, semi-final and final (where applicable) Please email music@llangollen.net for further information.
B2. INTERNATIONAL VOICE OF MUSICAL THEATRE (Prelim: Wednesday 3 July & Final: Thursday 4 July part of the evening concert with the opportunity to perform with a live band)
Prize: 1st International Medal and £2000. There will also be a runner-up prize of £1000
- This competition is open to singers aged 19 and over on the first day of the competitions.
- This prestigious prize is intended to advance the career of an amateur musical theatre performer.
- The competition will be held over two days. – see above.
- Competitors are required to perform a contrasting programme of up to 7 minutes of music for the Preliminary round and up to 10 minutes of music for the Final round. For the final round one song will be sung with a live band. Finalists must be free Thursday 4 July daytime for a rehearsal with the live band.
- The contrasting programme for both rounds must be chosen from the standard musical theatre genre.
- All music must be sung in the original language.
- Competitors may use their own accompanist. Alternatively, we can book you in with our official Eisteddfod accompanist at an additional cost of £40. This includes a rehearsal, prelim and final (where applicable) Please email music@llangollen.net for further information.

B3. Open Vocal Solo 18-19 (Prelim & Final Thursday 4 July)
Prizes: 1st International Medal and £300, 2nd £175, 3rd £100.
- This competition is open to singers aged 18 to 19 on the first day of the competitions.
- Competitors are required to perform a programme of up to 6 minutes of music.
- All music must be sung in the original language.

B4. Open Vocal Solo 15-17 (Prelim & Final Thursday 4 July)
Prizes: 1st International Medal and £200, 2nd £125, 3rd £80.
- This competition is open to singers aged 15 to 17 on the first day of the competitions.
- Competitors are required to perform a programme of up to 6 minutes of music.
- All music must be sung in the original language.

B5. Open Vocal Solo 12-14 (Prelim & Final Wednesday 3 July)
Prizes: 1st International Medal and £150, 2nd £100, 3rd £50.
- This competition is open to singers aged 12 to 14 on the first day of the competitions.
- Competitors are required to perform a programme of up to 6 minutes of music.
- All music must be sung in the original language.

B6. Instrumental/Vocal Folk Solo (Prelim & Final Thursday 4 July)
Prizes: 1st International Medal and £300, 2nd £175, 3rd £100.
- This competition is open to instrumentalists/singers of all ages.
- Competitors should present an appropriate programme representative of a local or regional tradition.
- The total duration of the performance must not exceed 6 minutes.
- Competitors may use their own accompanist. Alternatively, we can book you in with our official Eisteddfod accompanist at an additional cost of £40. This includes a rehearsal, prelim and final (where applicable) Please email music@llangollen.net for further information.
B7 International Instrumentalist of the Future (15-21) (Prelim & Final Friday 5 July)
Prizes: 1st International Medal and £850. Runner-up prize £450
- This competition is open to Instrumentalists aged between 15 and 21 on the first day of competitions.
- The programme must be up to 7 minutes of music in the preliminary round and up to 8 minutes of music in the final.
- Programme should include contrasting classical works.
- Competitors may use their own accompanist. Alternatively, we can book you in with our official Eisteddfod accompanist at an additional cost of £40. This includes a rehearsal, prelim and final (where applicable) Please email music@llangollen.net for further information.
B8 International Instrumentalist of the Future (9-14) (Prelim & Final Wednesday 3 July)

- The programme must be up to 6 minutes of music in the preliminary round and in the final.
